Family Based Immigration

Foreign citizens looking to live permanently in the United States require an Immigrant visa (IV). To be eligible they must be sponsored by an immediate relative who is at least 21 years of age and is either a U.S. citizen or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident.

The types of Family Based Immigrant visas are:

1. Unmarried adult children of citizens, along with their minor children

2. Spouses and minor children of lawful permanent residents

3. Unmarried adult children of lawful permanent residents

4. Married children of citizens, along with their spouses and minor children

5. Siblings of adult citizens, along with their spouses and minor children
